Work with a report

Filter, review, comment, and export a report.

A report opens on the Data tab (the results grid with a row count). A Rules tab is also available, and the report's status shows at the top. What you can do depends on the report layout and your role.

  1. Filter, sort, and adjust columns and density with the grid controls. Each column has its own menu (sort, filter, pin, group by, hide).
  2. Comment on a row from its More options menu, then select Comments. Comments open in a panel on the right that works like a chat and are visible to anyone with access to the report.
  3. Review and update row statuses, which are available on cross-check (reconciliation) reports only. Basic-table reports don't have per-row statuses and their row menu offers Comments only. For status colors and how to change them, see Review a reconciliation report.
  4. To export, open the report's More options menu and select Download. Choose Excel (.xlsx) or CSV (.csv); CSV files download compressed as .csv.gz. Retrieve the file from Downloads.
The report's More options menu also offers Ask AI for Insights, Create New Rule, Mark as Completed, Comments, and Delete.
  5. Turn on the Pivot toggle to open the Pivot panel.
You can drag fields into Rows, Columns, and Values, then choose an aggregation such as sum, count, or average. Use Pivot to total or count values across categories, for example, gross amount by status and direction to summarize a report without changing its query.

A report run shows one of these statuses:

  • Not started

  • Generating

  • Rule validation not started

  • Processing

  • Ready to Review

  • Work in Progress

  • Completed

  • Failed

For what each status means and what to do about a failed run, see Troubleshooting and FAQ.

Comments and export are available on all report types and to all roles (Read-Only users can download). Row statuses, Manual Match, and rules apply only to cross-check (reconciliation) reports and require the Organization Admin or Collaborator role. See Roles and permissions.
