Register products in New Mexico

Learn about what is required to register products in New Mexico.

Which product types to register

In New Mexico, you will need to register:

  • Wine
  • Malt
  • Spirits

You will need to include the following information for each product you register:

  • Vintage (for wine)
  • Bottle size
  • ABV
  • Bottles per case

How to register your products

  • If you have a new brand, register it as a New Brand.
  • If you have a new COLA under an existing brand, register it as a Line Extension.
  • If you make changes to a product or label, register your product as a Revision.
  • If you have a variety pack or combo, you do not need to register it separately in New Mexico.

State fees and approval time

There is no state fee for registrations in New Mexico. You will only be charged a $5 technology fee for each registration.

Some registrations are approved upon submission, while others require review. If you have not received approval or a request for supporting information within three days, leave a comment for the state administrator on your registration, or reach out to the state.

Distributor information

Distributor information is not required in New Mexico.

  • Trade Name Document (if you answered yes to Does this brand operate a trade name owned by you?)
  • Brand Acquisition Letter (if you answered yes to Are you registering a label because you just recently acquired this brand?)
  • Distributor Appointment Letter
  • United States Primary Source Letter

Renewals

Renewals are not required in New Mexico.

In New Mexico, licensees are required to submit a PRO registration in order for their license to be approved by the state. If you do not have an active license yet, email support@productregistrationonline.com, provide your Federal Basic Permit Number (FBPN), and request that we add your FBPN as a license in New Mexico.
