Define a reusable report template from a saved query and a layout.
Available on Enterprise to Organization Admins and Collaborators. A report template is the reusable definition behind a report. It fixes the layout and the query that supplies the data, and defines the parameters a user sets each time the report is run. Create the template once, then run it for any period (see Run a report from a template).
To prepare the query first, see Create a query, or create one during this task.
- Select Reports to open Report Templates, then Start a new template to open the Create a Report Template form.
- Under Basic information, enter a Title and Description, choose the Company the report applies to, and choose the Applicable country (or Global if it spans all jurisdictions).
- Under Layout, select how the data is displayed:
- Basic table
- For a single-statement query.
- Cross-check
-
For a two-query
#[MATCH] reconciliation query.
- Side-by-side
- For two queries without matching.
See Reports for more information.
- Under Query, select the saved query that supplies the data. If you need a new one, select I want to create a new query to open the Query Builder, then return to the template.
- Select Save (top right).
The template appears in the Report Templates list, where anyone with access can run it.
Next, run the template to produce a report. See Run a report from a template.
