Requirements
Before you begin integrating Sovos Account, verify you have the necessary credentials, meet system requirements, and understand client configuration needs.
Sovos credentials
To access Sovos Account services, contact the Professional Services team. They provide your client_id, client_secret, and all the information you need to access Sovos environments.
System and hardware requirements
Verify that workstations used for biometric verification meet these minimum requirements:
-
Operating system: Windows 10.
-
Processor: 1 GHz or faster processor, or System on a Chip (SoC).
-
Memory: 1 GB for 32-bit systems or 2 GB for 64-bit systems.
-
Storage: 16 GB for 32-bit systems or 32 GB for 64-bit systems.
-
Graphics: DirectX 9 compatible or later with WDDM 1.0 driver.
-
Display: 800x600 minimum resolution.
-
Internet connection: Required for updates and authentication services.
-
Install Sovos Trust Installer and Sovos Trust Connect on all workstations. These components manage biometric device communication and ensure proper driver installation.
-
Connect compatible biometric devices to each workstation:
-
Barcode readers: Logitech C922, C920, and C920e cameras; Honeywell Vuquest 3320g, or Microsoft Lifecam Cinema.
-
Fingerprint readers: HID Eikon Touch TC710, Digital Persona UareU 4500, or Secugen Hamster Plus.
-
NFC reader: ACS 1252 or HID Omnikey 5022.
-
Cameras: Clio Live camera.
-
SPA and client configuration
Register your application with Sovos Account to receive your client credentials and configure your integration settings. For detailed client configuration requirements, review SPA and clients.
Authentication parameters
Decide what information your application needs about people who complete verification. Use these decisions to determine which parameters to include in authentication requests.
-
Select scopes based on what information you need to access about verified identities.
-
Choose verification workflows that match your security requirements.
-
Configure redirect URIs during application registration. Sovos Account only sends responses to registered URIs.
-
Plan how you generate PKCE parameters. Your application needs to create a unique code verifier and derive a code challenge for each authentication request.
Review key concepts and integration workflow.
