Upload eBay sales data
If you are not using Tax Determination or an API to share transaction data with Sales Tax Filing, you need to upload your transactions in a file.
Transaction data must be uploaded by the fourth business day of each month. If the data is not uploaded by then, Sovos can't guarantee that the return will be filed on time in that filing period.
-
Make sure that the file is in CSV UTF-8 format.
-
Add a column to the file with the header tax. The amounts in Sales Tax and eBay Collected Tax are combined into this column, which is mapped to the Tax Amount Sovos field.
-
Add a column with the header Marketplace code.
-
Add a column with the header Exempt.
-
Make sure that the dates in the Order Date column are in MM/DD/YYYY format.
-
Make sure that the file contains the following required eBay fields, which are automatically mapped to Sovos fields:
| eBay Field | Sovos Field |
|---|---|
| Sales Record Number | Document Number |
| User Id | Customer/Vendor Code |
| Quantity | Quantity |
| Sale Price | Gross Amount |
| Sales Tax | Third-Party Name |
| eBay Collected Tax | Good/Service Code Description |
| Sale Date | Document Date |
| Ship to Address 1 | Ship to Street Name With Number |
| Ship to City | Ship to City |
| Ship to State | Ship to State/Province |
| Ship to Zip | Ship to Postal Code |
| Ship to Country | Ship to Country |
Your transaction data will be available in Sales Tax Filing within 24 hours.
