Upload Amazon sales data

If you are not using Global Tax Determination or an API to share transaction data with Sales Tax Filing, you need to upload your transactions in a file.

CAUTION:

Transaction data must be uploaded by the fourth business day of each month. If the data is not uploaded by then, Sovos can't guarantee that the return will be filed on time in that filing period.

Formatting requirements:

  • Make sure your file is in CSV UTF-8 format.

  • Add a column with the header "Marketplace code". Leave the rows under the header empty.

  • Add a column with the header "Exempt". Leave the rows under the header empty.

  • Make sure there are no completely blank columns in between the columns with headers in the file. Unhide hidden columns to make sure you are viewing the entire document. Empty columns after the final named column are fine.

  • Make sure your column headers start in the eighth row. Amazon Marketplace transaction reports typically contain report descriptions and other metadata in rows one through seven, so the template is set up to skip these first seven rows. If your report has fewer than seven rows, insert additional blank rows so that your header row starts on row eight.

The eighth row of the spreadsheet is highlighted.
  • The following fields are processed automatically. These are mandatory fields, so make sure that all of them are in the file you are uploading:
