Set up your credentials for Poland
Configure your tax authority credentials and Krajowy System e-Faktur (KSeF) certificates to enable invoice submission to Poland's e-invoicing system.
Before you can submit invoices to KSeF through Sovos, you must obtain and configure your tax authority credentials. This section covers the following topics.
To use tokens rather than certificates, generate and configure KSeF tokens.
Credential types
Poland supports the following types of credentials:
- For authentication:
Type 1 certificate (Authentication) authenticates your system with KSeF for online invoice submission. This certificate confirms your identity when connecting to the KSeF API. You need this certificate for standard real-time invoice submission.
- KSeF tokens (Authentication) are alphanumeric strings for online authentication. Tokens cannot support offline mode.Note:
Tokens were previously scheduled for deprecation on January 1, 2027. Poland's Ministry of Finance has reversed this decision and confirmed that tokens have no planned end date. Migration to certificates is optional; if you choose to migrate, see Migrate from tokens to certificates.
- For offline documents generation:
Type 2 certificate (Offline) validates offline invoices delivered to buyers before KSeF submission. When issuing invoices in offline24 mode, this certificate generates the cryptographic signature in the "CERTYFIKAT" QR code. You only need this certificate if you use offline invoice issuance.
Generating a KSeF certificate for entities (non-natural persons) needs logging into the KSeF system (MCU or KSeF Taxpayer Application) using the entity's qualified seal.
Environment-specific credentials
Generate separate credentials for each environment. Test credentials do not work in production, and production credentials do not work in test.

Use test environment for development and integration testing.
Use demo environment for user acceptance testing with real credential flow.
Generate production credentials only when ready for go-live.
