Create a sales order for an exempt product or service

The following steps describe how to create a sales order for an exempt product or service in SAP with taxes from Tax Determination.

Products and services can be partially or fully exempt in certain taxing jurisdictions. Tax Determination determines how items and services are taxed based on these jurisdictions' tax laws and the location. Exemptions are only applied to your SAP transactions if the product or service in SAP is mapped to a Good/Service Code in Tax Determination. For a list of available Good/Service Codes, download the Good/Service Code Guide from the Sovos Portal.

Note:

Consult your tax professional to decide which Good/Service Codes should be used for specific items or services.

Enter the T-Code VA01.
Enter OR in the Order Type field.
Click Enter.
The Create Standard Order: Overview screen appears.
In the Sold-To Party field, enter the appropriate value.
For example: 300025.
In the Ship-To Party field, enter the appropriate value.
For example: 300025.
Enter M-10 in the Material field.
Go to Create a standard sales order and follow the steps to complete the sales order.
