Create or change the Sovos password

Learn how to create the Sovos password and distribute the encrypted password to script deployments.

The Sovos password is encrypted when the Password v2 value on the Sovos Configuration Record is created or changed. The encrypted password must be distributed to all script deployments used by the connector.
  1. Go to Sovos Legacy > Legacy Tax > Configuration.
  2. Click Edit in the Sovos Configuration's row.
  3. Enter a password in the Sovos Password v2 field, then click Save.

Copy the cipherout.iv value

  1. Go to Customization > Scripting > Scripts.
  2. Click View in the Sovos Legacy Configuration Pass Encrypt's row.
  3. Click the Execution Log tab.
  4. Go to the cipherout.iv row and copy the value in the Details column.
    Note:

    If there is no cipherout.iv row, change the password again to generate a new value.

Confirm the deployment record settings

You must complete these steps for the following scripts:

  • Sovos Legacy Record Submit User Event

  • Sovos Legacy Tax Calc Suitelet

  • Sovos Legacy Commit Map

  1. Go to Customization > Scripting > Scripts.
  2. Click Deployments in the script's row.
  3. Click Edit in the first deployment record's row.
  4. Confirm that the Deployed option is selected and that the deployment fields are set to the following values:
    Status
    Released
    Log Level
    Debug
    Execute As Role
    Administrator
  5. On the Audience tab, confirm that Select All is selected for roles and employees.
  6. If you have a NetSuite OneWorld account, select all subsidiaries that apply from the dropdown.
  7. (Sovos Legacy Tax Calc Suitelet only) In the Parameters tab, paste the cipherout.iv value.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Repeat these steps for all deployment records in the list.
