Enter a direct-to-consumer refund with a change in address

Learn how to enter a direct-to-consumer refund if the customer's address has changed.

This process is for entering a direct-to-consumer refund where there is a change in address. For example, the customer originally ordered two bottles for $200, shipping to IL. Now, they are requesting you ship it to their MO lake house instead.
  1. Void the original order.
  2. Create a new order with a status of Sent to fulfillment.
  3. Cancel the original order with your 3PL or fulfillment house if it has already been sent there.
The new address will appear on the order and the correct tax due will be charged. If the first order was placed in a reporting period that has now come to an end, you may need to file an amended return.
