Manage users

The Users page lets you view a current user's name, email address, role, available child accounts, creation date, last login date, and when their login was upgraded.

Note:

Only Account Administrators or custom user roles with the same user management permissions can add, edit, or delete other users. Account Managers can only view users.

Find a user

Learn how to find a registered user in VAT Filing.

  1. Go to Settings > Users.
  2. To search the user by name or email address, click the Search icon.
  3. Enter your query with one or more characters. Then, click Enter.
  4. To filter the search results, select an option from the roles drop-down list.

Add a user

Learn how to add a user in VAT Filing.

  1. Go to Settings > Users.
  2. Click Add user.
  3. In the User Information section, enter the user's name, email, and select one or more companies.
    Tip:

    If needed, you can grant a user access to all companies within the account.

  4. In the Permission settings section, select a user role.
    Note:

    To view user permissions for each role, click View Permission or check the User Roles and Permissions documentation page.

  5. In the Localization settings section, select the user's region and time zone.
  6. In the User Settings section, create and confirm a password for the user.
    Tip:

    You can also select Login with SSO (Single Sign-On), which is an authentication method that lets users access several applications using a single set of login credentials.

  7. Select the Account settings tab to choose which child accounts the user can access.
  8. Select the Notification settings tab to decide when the user should get email notifications.
    Note:

    The created user can change their notification preferences later.

  9. Click Save.

Edit a user

  1. Go to Settings > Users.
  2. Select a row from the table.
  3. Edit the user as needed. Then, click Save.
    Note:

    In the User Information section, you can only edit the company level permission settings if the user doesn't already have access to all companies within the account.

Delete a user

Learn how to permanently delete a user in VAT Filing, removing its access to parent or child accounts.

  1. Go to Settings > Users.
  2. Select one or more users, or select all users using the checkbox at the top.
  3. Click the Remove user from this account icon. Then, click Remove to confirm.
