Manage security with an IP allow list

The IP Allowlist feature adds another security layer to your account by restricting access to a specified set of IP addresses. Only listed IP addresses can access your account.

Create an allow list

Learn how to create an allow list in VAT Filing.

CAUTION:

After you have added one or more IP addresses, only these locations will be allowed access to your account. Make sure to add your own IP address, as shown in the My IP address field, and any others that need access to your account. Remember to update this list whenever your users relocate or their IP addresses change.

  1. Go to Settings > IP Allowlist.
  2. You have two options for entering IP addresses:
    • Enter a Start IP address and an End IP address.
      Note:

To add more ranges, click Add new IP range.

    • Enter individual IP addresses, separated by commas, in the IP address list field.
  3. Click Save.

Remove access from the allow list

Learn how to remove IP address ranges or IP addresses from the allow list in VAT Filing.

CAUTION:

Only remove an IP address range or an IP address if you are sure it's no longer needed, as only the locations included in the allow list will have access to your account. Make sure to always keep your own IP address, as shown in the My IP address field, and any others that need access to your account. Remember to update this list whenever your users relocate or their IP addresses change.

  1. Go to Settings > IP Allowlist.
  2. Use one of these options:
    • To remove an IP address range, click the Remove button next to it.
    • To remove an IP address from the IP address list, delete it.
  3. Click Save.
