Add a location

Learn how to add your organization's place of business as a location in Sales Tax Filing.

  • There must be at least one return associated with the location in State and Local Returns.

A location, also called an outlet, is a physical place of business. Some jurisdictions require tax to be reported at the location level.

Important:

After you save the location, you will only be able to edit the location code and location information.

  1. Go to Settings > Locations and click Add.
  2. Enter the following information:
    Legal Entity

    The legal entity for this location.

    Location Code

    A code created by your organization to identify a location where you sell goods or services.

  3. Select a return.
    More location fields will appear.
  4. Enter the location information.
  5. Click Save.
