Manage two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication validates something you know (your password) and something you have (like your smartphone) during the login process. This significantly decreases the chance of unauthorized access and reduces the risk posed by weak passwords that can easily be shared, guessed, or cracked.
  1. Install any OATH Time-Based One-Time-Password (OTP) generator on your smartphone.
    OTP generators you can use:
  2. While logged in to eFileMyForms, go to the two-factor authentication setup page.
  3. In the header, click the dropdown with your name and select Manage Two-Factor.
  4. Open your One-Time-Password app and add a new account by scanning the QR code shown on the two-factor authentication settings page.
If you can't scan the QR code, manually activate the account by using the activation code in step 1.
  5. Confirm that your account has been properly activated on your smartphone by entering the displayed code and then tapping Activate Two-Factor.
Two-factor authentication is now activated. During login, enter your user ID and password, then select the Use two-factor authentication checkbox and enter your authentication code.
If you want to turn off two-factor authentication, go to the Two-factor authentication setup page and click Deactivate Two-Factor.

Troubleshoot a declined payment

If your payment was declined, check the following before contacting support.

Billing address and ZIP code

Make sure the billing address and ZIP code you entered match what your credit card issuer has on file. Even a small difference, such as an abbreviated street name or an incorrect ZIP code, can cause a payment to fail. If you're unsure what address your card issuer has on file, check your card statement or log in to your bank's website.

US-issued cards only

We only accept US-issued credit cards with US billing addresses. If your card was issued by a foreign bank or has a non-US billing address, you'll need to use a different card.

Still having trouble?

Contact your card issuer to check for any issues on their end, or reach out to our support team.
