Assign user roles

Learn how to import user roles into SAP and assign them to users to give them access to the integration tools.

The /SOVOSDTA/RL_SOVOS_AUTH_USER role gives users access to all SAP integration tools in your system. If you want to restrict access to certain tools or functions, you can edit the authorizations for the role.
  1. Import the user roles.
    1. Go to Role Maintenance (transaction PFCG).
    2. Click the Role tab, then click Upload.
    3. Select SOVOSDTA_ROLES from your files, then click Open.
      The SOVOSDTA_ROLES folder is inside the abap folder in the package.
    4. Click Transfer to import the roles into SAP.
  2. Optional: Edit the role authorizations.
    1. In Role Maintenance, enter /SOVOSDTA/RL_SOVOS_AUTH_USER in the Role field and click the Change icon.
    2. Click Authorizations, then click Change Authorization Data.
    3. Edit the role authorizations as needed.
    4. Save your changes, then click Generate to apply your changes to the role.
  3. Assign the role to a user.
    1. Go to User Maintenance (transaction SU01).
    2. Enter the name of the user in the User field, then click the Change icon if you are editing an existing user or the Create icon if you are creating a new user.
    3. Click the Roles tab.
    4. In a row of the Role Assignments table, enter /SOVOSDTA/RL_SOVOS_AUTH_USER in the Role field, then enter a start date and end date.
    5. Click Save.
