Add multiple header-level discounts

Learn how to to add multiple header-level discounts to a single transaction with subtotal items.

Basic NetSuite Legacy Tax only supports a single header-level discount per transaction, but you can add multiple header-level discounts to a transaction by adding subtotal items to it. All discounts below the subtotal item are considered header-level discounts.

Go to Lists > Accounting > Items > New.
Select Subtotal from the Item Type dropdown, then create and save the subtotal item.
Open your transaction record and add the subtotal item to the end of your items.
Add the discounts after the subtotal line.
Select Sovos Multiple Header-Level Discounts.
Click Save.

The discounts are applied to the transaction at the header level.

Note:

The Summary section does not show the discount amount, because this feature is not part of basic NetSuite Legacy Tax and as a result, the discounts below the subtotal item are not taken into account when calculating the transaction amounts in the Summary section.
