Update the gateway and port information

The following steps describe how to update gateway and port information for the services file in Windows and Unix to connect SAP with Tax Determination.

Add the SAP gateway and port information to the services system file for the Java Connector 3.0.21 to work properly. Create a services file backup before making any changes to it.

If you're using Windows and the SAP client is installed on the same computer as the Sovos JcoServer, the services system file is automatically updated with the necessary gateway and port information. Check the services file to confirm the update.

Open the gatewayports.txt file in the Sovos-S4Hana- JcoServer/ folder in the installation kit.
Copy all lines from this file and paste them into the services file.
Open the services file in:
- C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\services if you're using Windows but the SAP client is not installed on the same computer as the Sovos JcoServer.
- The /etc folder, /etc/services if you are using Unix.
Paste the contents of the lines you copied from gatewayports.txt into the services file.
