Create a tax group

Learn how to create a tax group to pair the GST and PST tax codes for a Canadian province.

A tax group is a set of tax codes that are relevant to a transaction.
  1. Go to Setup > Accounting > Tax Groups > New.
  2. Select Canada from the Item Type list.
  3. Enter a name for the tax group following this format: TWE_CA_[two-letter province abbreviation].
    For example, the nem of a tax group for Saskatchewan is TWE_CA_SK.
  4. Select the province from the dropdown, then select the GST and PST codes for that province.
    The rates for the codes you select are displayed in the Rate fields.
  5. If you have a NetSuite OneWorld account, select the subsidiaries that this tax group applies to and select Include Children if you want to apply the tax group to the children of the subsidiary.
  6. Click Save.
