New Sovos login setup

Learn about TINCheck's migration to a new Sovos login and the steps you need to take before September 30.

TINCheck is migrating to a new Sovos login on September 30, 2025. This migration enhances security while maintaining all your existing API functionality. If you use the TINCheck SOAP API, you must complete the following steps before this date to ensure uninterrupted API access.

Important:

Failure to update your API user settings before September 30th will result in API authentication failures and service disruptions.

Who needs to take action?

Customers:
  • Currently using the TINCheck SOAP API to make programmatic calls

  • With users in their TINCheck account who send API requests

  • Who are administrators who also make API calls

Required actions before September 30, 2025

  1. Review your current API users.
    1. Log in to your TINCheck Admin account.
    2. Go to the User management section.
    3. Identify and document which users are currently sending API calls.
This may also need to be verified with your internal development teams.
    4. Make a list of all users whose roles need to be updated.
  2. Update user roles.
    • Update every user's role who sends SOAP API calls to API User.

    1. Go to your TINCheck Admin panel.
    2. Locate each user who sends SOAP API calls.
    3. Change their role designation to API User.
    4. Save the changes for each user.
    5. Verify the role changes have been applied successfully.
      The Role will be API.
  3. Update Admin users who send API calls.

If you are an administrator who also sends SOAP API calls, the new system requires role separation for security purposes. You must create separate accounts for administrative functions and SOAP API calls.

    Benefits of this approach:
    • No changes required to your existing API integration code

    • Clear separation of administrative and programmatic access

    • Enhanced security through role-based access control

    1. Create a new admin account.
      • Create a new admin user with a different email address.

      • Assign this new account the Admin User role.

      • Use this new account for all administrative functions and account management.

    2. Keep your current account for API calls.
      • Use your existing account exclusively for SOAP API calls.

      • Ensure this user has an API User role.

  4. Verify your configuration.
    • All users sending SOAP API calls have the API User role.

    • Admin users who send API calls have separate accounts created with Admin Role selection.

    • New admin accounts have been tested for administrative functions.

    • All role assignments have been saved and verified.

    • API credentials are documented and accessible.

Testing recommendations:
  1. Test API calls with the updated user accounts.

  2. Verify admin functions work with new administrative accounts.

  3. Confirm that all team members have access to necessary accounts.
