New and improved

IRIS submissions
Record numbers now link to account numbers, giving each record a unique identifier and preventing IRS duplicate rejections.

Bug fixes

1042 and 1042-S forms
  • We fixed a problem that caused ZIP codes to be required for 1042-S recipients with the Foreign Recipient checkbox selected. You can now save foreign recipients without a ZIP code.

  • We fixed a problem that caused incorrect status codes for 1042 form rejections, preventing resubmission of corrected forms.

  • We fixed a problem where 1042 transmittals remained in a Submitting status after receiving a response. Statuses now update to Accepted or Rejected.

Regulatory updates

1042 and 1042-S forms
  • You must complete all required fields in the 1042-S form's Payer Different section (Boxes 16a-16e) before submitting to prevent transmittal failures and IRS rejections.

  • Box 71B and Box 71D are now required on 1042 forms when Refund is checked in Box 71A to prevent IRS XML schema validation errors.
