First-time account setup

Create a Sovos account to access your Sovos products, customer support, and manage your security settings and personal preferences.

When you create a Sovos account, you can access most Sovos products and services, including customer support, with the same login. You can also manage your password, security settings, and personal preferences across the Sovos platform.

When you join Sovos, there are two ways to get started: you can either be invited by your administrator or you can self-register for the support portal.

Administrator invitation - new user with no Sovos account

If you want to set up two-factor authentication for your new Sovos account, download an authenticator app to your mobile device such as Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, or Duo Mobile. The app must support Time-based One-Time Passwords (TOTP).

Most users are invited by their administrator to access one or several Sovos products. The process depends on whether you're new to Sovos or already have an account. The following steps are for new users. If you already have a Sovos account, skip to the next section for instructions.
  1. Your administrator adds you to a Sovos product and specifies your role.
You receive a welcome email with the subject line welcoming you to your new product.
  2. Open the welcome email, and click the button that prompts you to finish setting up your account.
  3. On the Choose a password page, enter a new password that meets the following requirements:
    • 10 or more characters

    • At least 1 lowercase letter

    • At least 1 uppercase letter

    • At least 1 number

    • At least 1 special character (#$@!%*?&+~|{}:.-;<>/_)

    • No whitespace characters

  4. Confirm your password by entering it again, then click Continue.
The two-factor authentication setup page opens.
  5. Enable two-factor authentication by clicking Get started and completing these steps, or click I do not want 2-factor authentication to skip this step.
Two-factor authentication is optional by default but your account administrator may require it. If your business requires two-factor authentication, you will not be able to skip this step. You can always enable two-factor authentication later in your profile settings.
  6. On the success page, click Continue to access your Sovos product.

Your Sovos account setup is complete. The next time you log in, use your email address and the password you chose during setup. If you enabled two-factor authentication, you will also need to enter a verification code from your authenticator app.

Administrator invitation - existing user with a Sovos account

Your administrator can add you to new products when you already have a Sovos account.
  1. Your administrator adds you to a Sovos product and specifies your role.
You receive a welcome email with the subject line welcoming you to your new product.
  2. Open the welcome email, and click the button that prompts you to log in to your account.
  3. Log in with your existing credentials.

You'll be automatically redirected to the new product you now have access to.

Self-registration for the Support portal

Some Sovos products manage user access independently and don't require a Sovos account. If you use one of these products and need customer support, you'll need to create a Sovos account to log in to the support portal.

Important:
If you already have access to the following Sovos products, you don't need to create a new account. You can log in to the support portal with your existing credentials.
  • TINCheck

  • TIR Corporate

  • TIR Enterprise

  • ReportMyUP

  • ReportMyUP Plus

  • Unclaimed Property

  • Compliance Network

  • VAT Filing

  • SAF-T

  • Saphety Invoice Network

  • PRO

This registration gives you access to the Sovos support portal, not product access. Product access must be granted by your administrator.

  1. Go to the registration page.
  2. Enter the required information, select the checkbox next to I agree to the Terms and Conditions, then click Create profile.
  3. Go to your inbox, and open the welcome email you received from Sovos.
  4. In the email, click Verify email.
The verification link expires after 72 hours. You'll be prompted to request a new link if your invitation expires.
  5. Enter and confirm your password to complete your support portal account, then click Continue.

The password must meet the following requirements:

    • 10 or more characters

    • At least 1 lowercase letter

    • At least 1 uppercase letter

    • At least 1 number

    • At least 1 special character (#$@!%*?&+~|{}:.-;<>/_)

    • No whitespace characters

You are logged into the support portal and can open a support case or use the chat functionality.

Troubleshoot sign-up issues

If you haven't received your invitation email, your invitation link has expired, or the link in the email is not working, try the following solutions.

You haven't received a welcome email.
  • Check your junk, spam, or quarantine folders for emails from Sovos.

  • Search your email for messages from noreply-account@sovos.com with the word "welcome" and the product name in the subject line.

  • Some enterprise organizations have strict firewall or email security policies that may block external emails. Contact your IT administrator and ask them to:

    • Add sovos.com to your organization's approved sender domains.

    • Add noreply-account@sovos.com to the allowlist in your email security settings.

    • Review any email filtering rules that might be quarantining Sovos communications.

Note: This is important to ensure you receive all future Sovos communications, including product notifications and security alerts.
After clicking the Verify email button in the email verification email, you get an error that the link has expired.
  • Verification links expire after 72 hours. Go to the login page and click Forgot password. Follow the instructions on the screen.
