Product tax codes
Learn how to add a product tax code to an item.
By default, Tax Determination uses the item name or number in NetSuite to determine the correct tax rate. You can use a product tax code (PTC) to apply a different tax rate.
Note: The Sovos PTC field will override the item name or number in the tax calculation request to Tax Determination. If the Sovos PTC field is empty, the item name or number will be used instead.
Add a product tax code to an item
Add the Sovos PTC field to a form
- Go to .
- Click Sovos PTC.
- On the Display tab, select the part of the form you want the Sovos PTC field to appear in from the Subtab dropdown.
- Click Save, then click Apply to Forms.
- Select the forms that you want the Sovos PTC field to appear on:
- To add the field to a specific form, select the Show option in the form's row.
- To add the field to all available forms, click Mark All.
- Click Save.
