Create custom fields
Learn how to create custom fields for Global Tax Determination values and add them to invoices.
In Coupa, custom fields allow you to track additional information that is not included in the standard Coupa fields. You can map custom fields in Coupa to fields in the Global Tax Determination tax engine.
Sovos uses the following custom fields:
- Bypass GTD
- If this option is selected, Coupa will not send a tax calculation request to Global Tax Determination for the invoice.
- GTD Tax
- This field shows the tax amount calculated by Global Tax Determination.
- GTD Tax Rates
- This field shows the tax rates used by Global Tax Determination.
- Sovos Custom Fields
- You can use these fields to store information that is not included in the standard Coupa invoice fields.
- Click Setup, then click Custom Fields in the Company Setup section.
- Select Invoices from the Select an object to customize dropdown.
- Add the Bypass GTD field:
- Drag the Check Box field into the Drag custom fields here box in the Invoices section.
- Click the Check Box field to open the field details.
- Enter Bypass GTD in the Prompt field.
- Enter bypass_gtd in the Field Name field.
- Click Done.
- Add the GTD Tax field:
- Drag the Text Field field into the Drag custom fields here box in the Lines section.
- Click the Text Field field to open the field details.
- Enter GTD Tax in the Prompt field.
- Enter gtd_tax in the Field Name field.
- Select Text from the Format dropdown.
- Leave the Active option selected.
- Clear the Editable option.
- Click Done.
- Add the GTD Tax Rates field:
- Drag the Text Field field into the Drag custom fields here box in the Lines section.
- Click the Text Field field to open the field details.
- Enter GTD Tax Rates in the Prompt field.
- Enter gtd_tax_rates in the Field Name field.
- Select Text from the Format dropdown.
- Leave the Active option selected.
- Clear the Enabled option.
- Click Done.
- Add the Sovos Custom Fields:
- Drag the Text Field field into the Drag custom fields here box in the Lines section.
- Click the Text Field field to open the field details.
- Enter Sovos Custom Field 1 in the Prompt field.
- Enter sovos_custom_field_1 in the Field Name field.
- Click Done.
- Repeat these steps to create a total of ten Sovos Custom Fields, numbered 1 through 10.
