Create and manage organizations

Administrators can create and manage organizations.

In general, your business should have one organization to centralize transactional data, usage, and billing data. Underneath the organization, you create companies that provide a more granular level of setup at the tax ID level.

Sovos automatically generates an ID for each organization to uniquely identify the account. This ID is different from the organization's name.

Create an organization

Note: This feature is only available to workspace administrators.
  1. Click Settings.
  2. Go to Organizations on the navigation menu.
  3. Click Create organization.
  4. Enter the organization name and a brief description.
  5. Click Save.

  1. Click the Settings icon.
  2. Go to Organizations on the navigation menu.
  3. Click an organization's name under the Name column.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. After making changes, click Save.
