Invoice lifecycles in Slovakia
Delivery to the buyer and tax reporting to the Slovak Financial Administration are independent events with their own statuses. Track both, because one can succeed while the other fails.
Learn how an invoice moves through delivery and Tax Data Document (TDD) reporting, how to interpret each status, and what to do at each stage.
How the status sequence works
When you submit a Slovakia invoice, two independent events happen in sequence:
-
Network delivery (MLR): The invoice travels through the PEPPOL network to the buyer's Access Point. Sovos confirms delivery with a Message Level Response (MLR).
-
TDD reporting (eMLR): Unimaze, Sovos's network partner, generates a Tax Data Document and reports it to the Slovak Financial Administration (Slovak FA). Sovos confirms the outcome with an Extended Message Level Response (eMLR).
Each event generates its own status notification. Track them separately. Delivery success doesn't guarantee TDD reporting success, and TDD reporting doesn't depend on the buyer taking any action.
Sovos generates lifecycle status updates automatically. You don't submit status changes through an API — you poll for notifications and react to what you receive.
