Compliance Network Implementation Guide

Set up account

Before you can send or receive documents through Sovos for Belgium, you must complete these setup steps.

Note:

Account setup in Compliance Network follows the same process for all countries. This topic covers the Belgium-specific values you need for each step. For standard how-to steps, see About setting up your account.

Before you begin

Confirm the following before starting account setup:

  • You have a Belgian enterprise number from the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE/KBO).

  • You have a valid Belgian VAT number in the format BE + 10 digits, for example BE0123456789.

  • You have an outsourcing authorization agreement with Sovos.

Create an organization

Follow the standard steps for creating an organization.

Note:

Only workspace administrators can create organizations.

When assigning products, use the following Belgium e-invoicing product IDs:

Product ID Use
be_invoice_outbound_1.0 Sending invoices and credit notes as a supplier
be_invoice_inbound_1.0 Receiving invoices and credit notes as a buyer

Add companies

Follow the standard steps for adding a company.

For Belgium, each company represents one legal entity identified by its VAT number.

Property Detail
Format BE + 10 digits
Example BE0123456789
Validation Modulo 97 checksum

For scheme and format requirements, see PEPPOL participant identifiers page.

Create ERP system IDs

You must create ERP system IDs in Sovos before you can set up company endpoints. An ERP system ID links your internal system to the notification routing setup in Network Services.

Important:

The platform automatically creates default ERP system IDs when you provision a new organization, but Sovos does not synchronize these to Network Services and you can't use them for endpoint setup. Create new ERP system IDs manually. To create an ERP system ID, see Configure network page.

Add people and assign roles

Follow the standard steps for creating an organization.

User management is the same across all countries. There are no Belgium-specific role requirements.
