About cache plans
Learn how TINCheck cache plans work and how to add the cache capability to your account.
TINCheck offers pay-as-you-go and monthly plans with cache enabled. When the IRS system is down, this option lets customers validate Tax Identification Numbers (TINs) against stored results instead of waiting for IRS availability.
How cache validation works
TINCheck maintains a database of TIN and name-matching results. When the IRS system reports intermittent problems, TINCheck automatically checks the submitted TIN and name against that database. If a stored result exists, TINCheck returns it immediately.
Both API and web request histories indicate when a result comes from the cache with a checkmark in the cache column.
TINCheck rechecks each TIN and name combination against the IRS system every 30 days.
Purchase a cache plan
- New customers: When you select a pay-as-you-go or monthly plan, choose the cache-enabled option. The cache is automatically enabled on your account.
- Existing customers: Log in to TINCheck, click the Profile icon, then click your name, and select Billing and payments from the dropdown.
-
Monthly plan: Switch to the same plan with cache enabled, or choose a different cache-enabled monthly subscription. The change takes effect at your next billing cycle.
-
Pay-as-you-go plan: Use your remaining non-cache checks, then switch to a cache-enabled pay-as-you-go plan.
