To perform a search, you must provide the Alias field along with at least one identifier.

For resident tax forms, provide one of these identifiers:

• TIN

• Account number

• ID

• Externally provided unique ID

For non-resident (1042-S) tax forms, provide one of these identifiers:

• TIN

• Account number

• Form ID

The response returns paginated results. Each record includes full form details and associated payer and recipient information.

Use the form metadata endpoint when you already know the form you want and need its attributes rather than a list of search results. Provide both the Alias and FormID. The response returns one record with the form type, tax year, transmittal correction type, transmit status, print status, and the identifiers tied to the form.
