Learn how to correct 1042 forms after they have been submitted to the IRS.
- Click Withholding Forms on the side menu.
- Click the form's row.
- Click Mark as Correction.
- Edit the 1042 form fields and fill out the Form 1042 Correction explanation.
Note: The correction explanation will not be included on the printed PDF form. It will be included in the XML transmittal file.
- Click Save.
Note: To save a PDF of the form, click the More options icon, then click Generate PDF. In the e-signature pop-up, enter your full name and title, then click Generate.
- Click Certify and submit.
- Enter a PIN. Then enter your title, full name, and Social Security Number (SSN) (optional).
Tip: The PIN can be any five numbers except for all zeros.
- Click Submit.

On the Withholding Forms page, the form has a Submitted status. The Confirmation number field will populate when it is shared by the IRS.

To download a copy of the transmittal, click the More options icon and select Download transmittal. You can also find it under Transmittal files on the File Manager page.
